With the warmth (and humidity!) of these sunny summer days, you might find yourself wanting to indulge in a cold, creamy treat to take the edge off, but what if I told you that it’s entirely possible for this treat to be not only delicious but HEALTHY and filled with vitamins and antioxidants that will actually boost your mood and energy. How? Switch out the ice cream for some homemade NICE CREAM. I swear to you, this ish is BANANAS! (No, really!) Nice cream gets its sweet creamy base from bananas, frozen and then blended until creamy. You can get creative with the flavors, but this particular recipe is for my super yummy Berry Nutty Nice Cream. It kind of tastes like a deliciously creamy frozen PB&J: the ultimate comfort food, but with ZERO guilt. What’s inside? Ingredients (makes 1 pint)
Recipe
That’s really it! So simple, so healthy, and so tasty! If you’d like, top with some fresh berries, a drizzle of warmed nut butter or chocolate, and some more nuts to have yourself a Nice Cream Sundae. Typically I’ll make myself two of these at once in my Nutri Ninja, saving one in the pint sized glass canning jar to enjoy the next day and eating the 2nd one right then and there (because I eat one of these every single day….with no guilt.) It packs about 414 calories in a pint, but you can save 60 calories by using water in place of the oat milk. If that seems like a high calorie count to you, consider that the typical pint of ice cream packs over 1000 calories and is laden with sugar and chemicals. The 414 calories in this Nice Cream are filled with vitamins, antioxidants, and healthy fats with no added sugars. It truly is That Blissful Balance between health and indulgence. You will not miss ice cream when you try it, and remember, ZERO guilt! Its bananas!
